After his demobilisation, Andriy Lutsenko and his wife moved to Mariupol and began performing in a local theatre, but in 2022 their apartment, as well as the theatre, was destroyed by Russian missiles. Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, the actor has been serving in the border troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The actor, who serves in the Legion of Freedom, took part in street battles in Sievierodonetsk. He was wounded during an artillery battle in Zaitseve. On 25 February 2022, Viktor was scheduled to make his debut as a director with the play Enemy Cosmetics based on the book by Amelie Notomb. The full-scale invasion changed his plans: the actor was denied a "white ticket" at the military registration and enlistment office, but Storozhenko joined the Svoboda volunteer battalion.
