A priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) from Chernihiv, Eugene Orda, a Belarusian by birth, was held captive in Russia for about a month. People in Chernihiv know Eugene Orda as an active supporter of the Ukrainian military and volunteers since 2014. Thus, in August 2017 he made his 100th trip to the front. Clothing assistance from the then St. Catherine Church in Chernihiv went to hundreds of tons. Military chaplain and volunteer Eugene Orda still passes aid to the military along with his parish. Yevgeny also honors the fallen soldiers of the UPR.
