Artem Sachuk

Artem Sachuk, Vice President of the Ukrainian Chess Federation, was killed in the war with the Russian occupiers

Artem Sachuk was originally from Zhytomyr. Before the outbreak of the full-scale war, he worked as a project manager at the Reforms Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and had his own business, previously heading the Zhytomyr Regional Development Agency. After Russia's full-scale invasion, Artem went to war. During this time, he was a platoon commander and teacher, deputy commander of the ZMR, acting company commander, deputy commander of the BTGr and acting chief of the RAO service.


On 7 April, Sachuk received the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine" for personal courage in the defence of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty, the Verkhovna Rada Youth and Sports Committee reported.
