The Museum of Antiquities soon became the Chernihiv Historical Museum, and in 1978 it was decided to set up the Chernihiv Regional Library for Youth. The museum's activities contributed to the development of Ukrainian culture, the preservation of Ukraine's history, and the awareness of the Ukrainian nation's separateness.

On 11 March 2022, the Chernihiv Regional Library for Youth, which survived the Bolshevik bombardment in 1918 and 1919 and survived the bombing of the German Nazis during World War II, was destroyed by Russian troops. The invaders dropped a 500-kilogram high-explosive bomb into the library's courtyard, destroying the walls and interior ceilings of the building.

Shestovytsia airport is located near the village of the same name in Chernihiv region, to which it owes its name. The airport was built in the late 1980s. Until 1994, it operated domestic flights to Lviv, Odesa, Donetsk, and Crimea, as well as international flights.

During the attacks, Russian troops destroyed the airport building, along with six of the eight unique mosaic panels. Along with the building, ceramic panels and plaster reliefs inside the building, created by other Chernihiv artists and sculptors, were also destroyed. It is currently impossible to dismantle the surviving parts of these artworks.

Before
On 5 March 2022, during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine and the siege of Chernihiv, the eastern stand was destroyed by artillery fire. On 11 March, enemy aircraft damaged the pitch as well. The stadium, where whole generations of Ukrainians trained for decades, where future champions grew up, where children's dreams came true, was destroyed by the Russian occupiers with 500 kg landmines.

The regional office of the Security Service of Ukraine. The building was built in 1904 by architect Yanivskyi and was originally intended for the Chernihiv District Court.

On 25 February 2022, on the second day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the Russian occupiers shelled the building of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Chernihiv, which is a historical monument of local significance. In addition, the KGB archive was stored here.

After
The Shchors cinema was built in 1939. It was one of the few buildings from the 1930s that remained in Chernihiv. The Shchors cinema was the best-equipped cinema in the city. During the Second World War, the building was almost completely destroyed by German troops, and only the facade survived. After the war, the cinema was rebuilt, and in 1947, an open trial of German and Hungarian prisoners of war who had committed war crimes took place there.
