Halyna Fedyshyn is from the village of Svarychiv in the Rozhnyativ community.

The girl studied at the Zvyagel Medical College and graduated in 2015. Later, she returned to the Ivano-Frankivsk region and registered with the military commissariat. This was reported by Nina Moroz, director of the social and psychological service of the Zvyagel Medical College, in a commentary to Suspilne.

"For a year, she was begging at their doorsteps because they did not want to take her. Halyna is small and thin. But in the end, she achieved her goal and was accepted to the team," says Nina Moroz. 

Nina Moroz says that Halyna Fedyshyn was wounded. She was taken prisoner while leaving Azovstal in May 2022. At the same time, her soldier boyfriend, who is from Donetsk region, was taken prisoner.

"They did not see each other in captivity, he only managed to find out that Galia was alive. As far as I know, the boyfriend was released from captivity a little earlier," said Nina Moroz.

While in captivity, Galina Fedyshyn spoke Ukrainian as a matter of principle.

"The Russians imitated her removal for exchange several times, but eventually returned her back to the place of detention," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a post on Telegram.
