On 3 May, the Russian army struck the only working hypermarket and railway station in Kherson. The shelling killed 21 people and injured 48.

Another four people were killed in the strikes on the territory of the region. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the occupiers killed three power engineers near the villages of Stepanivka and Muzykivka, as well as a resident of the Dariivka community.

At the time of the attack, a team of employees of the energy company was repairing the power grid after Russian shelling to provide people with electricity.
