Russian missile fragments hit a residential area in Kyiv

On the morning of 7 February, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. The explosions were heard in Kyiv. The shelling injured 40 people.

The first series of explosions occurred at around 7:00 a.m. in the capital. In the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, an 18-storey residential building caught fire as a result of the Russian attack. The 10th to 15th floors caught fire. A two-storey service station building also caught fire, with a fire area of approximately 800 square metres. The number of injured in the Holosiivskyi district increased to 32, and the death toll rose to four. Their bodies were recovered from the rubble of the high-rise. The fire in the high-rise building in Holosiivskyi district was extinguished at 11:40 am.
