The General Staff of the AFU published a statement in which it officially confirmed the attack on the Russian large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov" in the Black Sea this morning. The Russian Defence Ministry has not yet commented on this information. The Kremlin declined to comment.

The Ukrainian military claims that the ship, which was near Alupka (in annexed Crimea) at the time of the attack, was destroyed.

Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate reported details of the attack on the large landing ship and also published a video.

"The enemy ship was attacked by "Magura V5" attack marine drones off the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea near the town of Alupka. As a result, "Caesar Kunikov" received critical breaches on the left side and began to sink", - said in a statement of the Department.

The GSD points out that the "Caesar Kunikov" can hold up to 87 crew members on board, and the search and rescue operation "was not successful."

"The destruction by the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defence Ministry of the Russian BDC "Caesar Kunikov" is another confirmation that the enemy cannot sail Ukrainian territorial waters with impunity," said Commander of the AFU Ground Forces Oleksandr Pavlyuk.
