Kyiv TV tower
The Kyiv TV tower is a 385-metre-high metal spatial lattice free-standing high-rise structure located in Kyiv. It is the world's first all-welded TV tower. It is the tallest building in Ukraine and the tallest all-metal lattice free-standing structure in the world.
On 1 March 2022, Russian troops invading Ukraine fired two missiles at the Kyiv TV tower. One hit the broadcaster's control room on the tower itself, and the other hit the transformer substation that supplied the tower with electricity.
Kherson TV tower
Kherson TV Tower is an all-metal spatial lattice television tower in Kherson. It was the tallest building in the Kherson region: the spire was about 194 metres high and the antenna was 200 metres high. It was used for television broadcasting.
On the evening of 3 March 2022, during the battles for Kherson during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops occupied the TV tower. Broadcasting of Ukrainian TV channels was suspended.
On 20 April 2022, Russian TV channels began broadcasting. On 22 April, all Russian TV channels of the first and second multiplexes began broadcasting.
On 27 April, Kherson was struck, one of which hit a TV tower. According to local residents, broadcasting of Russian TV channels was interrupted. However, the TV tower was not significantly damaged.
In November 2022, the tower, along with the television centre, was blown up by the Russian military during their retreat from Kherson.
Kharkiv TV tower
The Kharkiv TV Tower is a 240.7-metre-high metal spatial lattice free-standing high-rise structure located in the city of Kharkiv.
On 6 March 2022, a Russian Su-34 bomber struck the TV tower with two bomb strikes. The tower's supports were damaged and it was out of commission for a while, but it survived.
On 22 April 2024, a Russian missile strike broke the tower in half. There were no casualties, but there were interruptions in the digital television signal.
