Defending Ukraine, 29-year-old writer Ihor Mysiak died at the front. The native of Lviv region served in a separate mechanised brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, the press service of the Tempora publishing house reported on Monday, 22 May.

The writer was born in the Lviv region on 16 June 1993. He took an active part in the Revolution of Dignity and lived in Kyiv. In 2014-2015, he served in the Azov Regiment as a medic and rescuer. In 2022, he published his debut novel, The Plant, dedicated to his fallen comrade-in-arms.

In March 2022, Ihor Mysiak joined a unit of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, the writer was assigned to the 28th separate mechanised brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He took part in the liberation operations in the Kherson region, and later in the Bakhmut direction.

Ihor Mysiak was a poet and prose writer, winner of the Khortytsia Bells 2018 competition, the Irpin Parnassus 2018 festival, the Zhytomyr TEM 2019 competition, and the An T-R-Act 2020 festival. His works were published in the magazines Literary Chernihiv, Dzvin, the anthology Young Voices, and several anthologies.

The deceased writer is survived by his wife.
