On the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, 24 February 2022, the village was occupied by Russian troops.

On 6 June 2023, the village was flooded due to the proximity to the lower reaches of the Dnipro River as a result of the undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam.

On 14 October 2023, a Russian ammunition depot exploded near the village.

At the end of October 2023, soldiers of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade landed and seized a bridgehead in the village.
