The number of those buried under the rubble is incalculable and will never be known. The Russian occupants, having seized the city, have begun to destroy traces of their crimes. Destroyed houses are being destroyed, surviving Mariupol residents are being interrogated and Russian narratives are being imposed. The city is symbolically dotted with Russian paraphernalia and pro-Russian slogans. Death is what Russia carries. And the whole world knows it.
