Oleksandr Mashlay

Oleksandr Mashlai, a soldier and former editor-in-chief of the Pravyi Poshtup media outlet, was killed on 7 May in the Avdiivka sector while performing a combat mission.

Oleksandr was brought up in Plast, the National Scouting Organisation of Ukraine, was an activist in Rivne and Volyn, a member of the Youth Nationalist Congress, and in 2004 he was a co-coordinator of the civil campaign Pora (Black) in Rivne region.

Since 2005, he has been a member of the National Alliance NGO, as well as an organiser and co-organiser of patriotic youth camps, war games and events.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Mashlay volunteered for the frontline.

Oleksandr is survived by his wife and two sons.
