Borodyanka, which is located towards the Belarusian border, was in the main direction of the Russian offensive on Kiev. It was subjected to massive shelling by the Russian army.

Judging by the scale of destruction, the Russian troops bombed the city on purpose.

The scale of the destruction is enormous. Buildings collapsed and burnt down, houses turned to rubble, and cars mangled.

Several witnesses said that the Russian military prevented locals from removing the rubble of residential buildings in order to find those who might have survived. Those who tried to do so were threatened with weapons.
