View DetailsAt the beginning of March 2022 armed terrorists of the Russian Federation started the occupation of the peaceful city of Irpen located 20 kilometres from the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. They managed to gain a foothold in the northern and western parts of the city. Subsequently, under cover of civilians and civilian infrastructure, the occupiers shelled the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The shelling was chaotic and a huge number of houses and shops were destroyed. The exact number of Ukrainian civilians killed and missing is still unknown. Cases of looting, torture and rape of civilians, including children, by Russian terrorists have been recorded. Irpin was a quiet town, with the largest number of parks in Ukraine. At the end of March, a huge part of the Russian terrorists were destroyed and the city was liberated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
