Russian troops are destroying churches all over Ukraine, believing they may be ammunition depots or military locations.

Russian troops are striking civilian infrastructure in Ukrainian cities. Russian missiles hit a church in Kizomys, Kherson Region.

The Russians hit the Iskander-K hotel building with a missile. The building housed a children's camp. 

On 23 July 2023, Russian forces launched another missile strike on Odessa during their invasion of Ukraine. The strike partially destroyed the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, the largest Orthodox church in Odessa.

Lviv was hit by 10 Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea, damaging 35 houses. At least four people were killed in one of the multi-storey buildings, about 40 were wounded. 

Believers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine prayed in a church destroyed by the occupiers. During the Russian occupation of 2022, the building was used for military purposes.
 

The front-line town of Avdiivka suffers from Russian shelling on a daily basis. A multi-storey building and a church have come under fire.
