Vadym Khlupyanets, a native of Donetsk and an actor of the Kiev Academic Theatre, fought to the last for the liberation of Ukraine from the Russian occupants. He died in heavy fights near Bakhmut.

Volodymyr Vakulenko disappeared during the Russian occupation in Kharkiv region. Six months later a mass grave site was found where Volodymyr's body was found. 

Valeriy Ananyev served in the AFU for five years, two of which were in the war zone between Ukraine and Russia. He served in the 25th Airborne Brigade. He is the author of the book Traces on the Road.

United24 is a platform created in Ukraine to assist international partners, donors and philanthropists in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. Oleksandr Usyk became one of its members.

On 22 September some of Azovstal's captive heroes returned to Ukraine. Among them was Mykhailo Dianov, whose picture has gone around the world. 

Yevhen Brakh, a soldier of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (call sign "Mali"), was killed while defending his country. The hero is survived by a newborn son.

A prisoner exchange has taken place between Ukraine and Russia. 215 defenders of Ukraine have returned home.
