In more than a year of cynical warfare, many international actors, directors, writers and producers have expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Many of them have also come to Ukraine despite the air raid and the real danger to their lives.

A military medic from Azovstal, Crimean Tatar Asan Isenadzhiyev, was released from captivity on 31 December 2022. On that day, 140 defenders of Ukraine returned to Ukraine.
