Serebryansky is one of the objects of the nature reserve fund of the Luhansk region, a botanical reserve of local importance. It is being destroyed by Russian troops.

On 7 May 2022, the Russian Air and Space Forces launched an airstrike on a school building where residents of Belogorovka were hiding from shelling. More than 60 people were killed. 

Russian invaders destroyed the town during an assault on Popasna (Luhansk region). The local collaborators decided that they would not rebuild it, so the town remains in ruins.
