The town of Marinka near Donetsk has been holding back the onslaught of Russian occupiers since 2014. Russian troops wiped the town off the face of the earth.

A Russian strike on a five-storey building in Zaporizhzhya killed 13 people, including an 8-month-old baby, and almost completely destroyed the house. The strike was carried out by a S-300 missile.

On 21 February 2023, dictator Putin delivered his address, mostly related to the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. Briefly: no victories in the so-called "military operation", Putin's whining and empty threats are. 

He took part in the defence of Mariupol and was captured by the Russians in May. He was released six months later, but exhaustion from Russian captivity eventually led to his death. 

For almost a year now, Ukraine has been resisting Russia's full-scale invasion. Many athletes have not stayed away from the war, taking up arms to defend independence.
 

Unfortunately, war does not pass without losses. Among celebrities there are also many who tragically died defending their country from Russian invaders.

The city of Mariupol is occupied by Russian troops. The situation in the city after a year of occupation is critical, but the Russians continue to "dance on the bones". 

On 5 February 2023, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the central district of Kharkiv. They targeted a residential area and a university.

Russian terrorism is unstoppable. Eight civilians are known to have been wounded and two killed after Russian occupants hit a house in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Region.

The town of Avdiivka is under full Ukrainian control. Every day, Russian occupants are shelling and terrorising the town's civilians.
 

Bogorodichne, a village in Donetsk Region in eastern Ukraine, was attacked by Russian forces in June and came under occupation in August. In September, Ukrainian forces liberated the village. 

Russian occupants terrorize the civilian population of Kherson every day with mortar attacks. It is not military targets that are hit by Russian mines, but hospitals, schools and other civilian infrastructure.

Ukrainian mixed martial arts fighter Eduard Kostritsa died fighting Russian occupants near Bakhmut, Donetsk region. This was reported by the National MMA Federation of Ukraine.

Since the invasion began in February 2022, Russia has been fiercely shelling the city as it was an important strategic target. They managed to capture the city while killing tens of thousands of Ukrainians.

For more than 240 days from May 2014 until January 2015, Ukrainian troops at Donetsk Airport defended their native land from the Russian invasion. The pro-Russian forces completely destroyed the airport while suffering huge losses.
 

Russian invaders destroyed the town during an assault on Popasna (Luhansk region). The local collaborators decided that they would not rebuild it, so the town remains in ruins.
